Chico, Here I Come

I've been sitting here trying to think of something to write to wrap up the last 11 months of my life here in China, but my thoughts and emotions are too jumbled and confusing to try and put them into words.

I am ready to come home - excited to see my family, catch up with friends, eat a real burrito, get my summer tan on, sleep in my own room/bed, and travel around the US before school starts in September (you can see my busy summer schedule below). But I am also very sad to leave China. This place has become my home - I feel so comfortable here and life is just so simple, straightforward, and easy. Leaving China officially marks the end of my junior study abroad year and means I've got to start facing the biggest question of being a senior: what am I going to do after graduation?

But enough worrying about the future, for now.

My bags are pretty much packed and I managed to fit everything into 3 suitcases (thanks to Mom and Dad taking some stuff home for me in June). I have one full day left in Beijing and have already planned out all my remaining meals so I get to eat my favorite Chinese foods one last time.

I leave here at noon on Tuesday and after a short stop in SF, I'll be arriving in Chico at 11:48am on the same day. For the rest of the summer, my plans are:

7/21 Home!
7/24-27 Lake Tahoe.
7/28 Sacramento.
7/31-8/2 Ashland, OR.
(8/1 Birthday)
8/3-10 Chicago, IL.
(8/7-9 Lollapalooza)
8/10-14 Meg in Chico.
8/14-16 San Francisco.
8/23 Long Valley, NJ.
8/24 Boston, MA.
9/8 School Starts.

Thanks for sticking with me through this past year. See you Stateside!
